Description

This sturdy portable 48” tall electric netting will keep your birds in and ground predators at bay. The netting is equipped with double-spiked step in posts to allow for easy placement and stability. Its graduated horizontal spacing provides extra protection at the bottom of the fence. This portable fence allows you to easily move your birds around the yard. Just add your energizer and it will be ready to keep those predators out. Available In either 82 ft and 164 ft rolls.

The main difference between positive-negative electric fencing and regular electric fencing lies in how the fence delivers an electric shock and how it's set up in relation to the ground.

Regular Electric Fencing (Hot-Ground System)

  • In a typical electric fence, the fence wires are positively charged (hot), and the ground serves as the negative (earth) connection.
  • When an animal (or person) touches the hot wire, they complete the circuit through the ground, receiving a shock.
  • This system relies on good soil moisture to conduct electricity effectively. If the ground is dry, frozen, or sandy, the shock may be weaker.

Positive-Negative Electric Fencing (Hot-Hot System)

  • This system has alternating wires: some are positive (hot), and some are negative (ground return).
  • Instead of relying on the soil to complete the circuit, the animal completes it by touching both a hot wire and a ground (negative) wire at the same time.
  • This system works better in dry, rocky, or frozen ground conditions, where regular electric fences may not shock effectively.
  • It's commonly used in areas with poor grounding conditions.

Which One to Use?

  • Use Regular Electric Fencing if the ground is consistently moist and conductive.
  • Use Positive-Negative Electric Fencing if you're in an area with dry, sandy, or frozen ground where grounding is poor.
