Afghan Whitewing Pheasant Chicks
This small flighty black-necked pheasant was originally imported by avian scientists from
Afghanistan as a potential replacement for the Ringneck in the arid Southwest U.S.
The secret of the Afghan's survival skills is that is is a "roosting" type of pheasant,
so it is less vulnerable to four legged predators. Due to their genetic profile,
they reproduce later in the spring and will be available after mid-June until mid-July.
Cocks average 2 lbs., hens 1 lbs.

Bohemian Blackneck Pheasant Chicks
The Bohemian Blackneck is more rusty-mahogany color than the ringneck. Just like the afghan, the larger bohemian Blackneck is a wild and powerful flier, performing very well in all hunting coverts. It is about 1 pound larger than the Ringneck. The rooster will weigh about 4 lbs. while the hens about 3 lbs.
